Cloud Architect - Europe
This role is 100% Remote open to EU or UK-based applicants only.
We are looking for a Cloud Architect to support the strategic directions for cloud infrastructure, drive operational delivery and help raise the service quality for 600+ global customers in Luxury Apparel, Outdoor Sports, Footwear, Cosmetics, Food and Beverage segments, with its industry disruptive and innovative product lifecycle management approach. The successful candidate will lead multiple teams of talented cloud engineers who are passionate about our product and seek to deliver the best experience to our customers.

Responsibilities:
- Understand customers' cloud estate, LOB applications, IT and business priorities, and success measures to design implementation architectures and cloud-native solutions.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application architects and SMEs to develop enterprise-grade solutions.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems.
- Draft technical solutions for migration, multi-account multi-region deployments, modern architecture, GCP or AWS Landing zone, and control tower.
- Keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights and maintaining technical skills and knowledge.
- Draft hybrid connectivity and networking landscape for the clients onboarding to AWS.
- Advocate new features and solutions to bring operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Drive architectural decisions from Infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation lens.
- Develop deep relationships with key customer IT decision-makers.
- Define long-term cloud strategy and enhancement roadmap.
- Develop test plans and test cases to demonstrate application/database readiness post-migration or greenfield deployment.
- Work closely with application teams to ensure business functionality and SLAs are met.
- Consult for the optimal design of environments, analyze complex distributed production deployments, and make recommendations to optimize performance.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on GCP or AWS and assist Sales/Pre-Sales in RFP activities.
- Cloud Engineering SME with ultimate ownership of all private and public cloud-based hosting solutions
- Continuous Improvement - Driven to lead self, clients, and teams with an appetite to lead modern digital trends and cutting-edge technologies
- Improve and maintain cloud engineering best practices and guidelines
- Manage budget, resourcing, and strategic expenditures to ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and predictable operations
- Provide strong leadership and mentoring including professional and personal development for team members
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, MCA, or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in architecture, dev ops, and cloud ops roles within a software or services company.
- Subject matter level expertise on GCP or AWS - Network & Security, Compute & Storage, Backup & DR, Monitoring, Governance & Cost Management, migration, DevOps.
- Rich experience in Migration projects and good knowledge of migration tools (native and third party) like CloudEndure, and MGN.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g., Terraform, CloudFormation etc)
- Configuration management using Ansible and/or Chef/Puppet, Shell, PowerShell.
- Implementing experience with primary Cloud services GCP (GCE, GPD, API Gateway, Route53) or AWS (EC2, ELB, ECS, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route53 & S3)
- Deep hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and docker administration (EKS and ECS).
- Good architectural knowledge to design, build Cloud Native solutions and integrating 3rd party tools required for customer delivery/ Cloud estate.
- Experience in PaaS services like RDS, Lambda, API gateway, Redshift, Glue etc.
- Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives and growing data services in large or highly strategic accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
- Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively.
- Resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management and developers)
Desired Skills:
- Expertise in containerization – Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in any development language like python
- Data analysis pipelines knowledge (Glue, EMR, Redshift, DMS, Kinesis) etc.
Mandatory Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solution Architect – Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
